A Bradford charity is stepping up its fight against food poverty with the launch of a new food bank service.
The Muslim Women’s Council, through its flagship Curry Circle project, has partnered with Nourish & Hope to create the Curry Circle Food Bank – an initiative designed to ensure vulnerable families and individuals can access both freshly prepared hot meals and essential food parcels.

The Curry Circle, which has been running for over a decade, has already served more than 100,000 hot meals to those in need. Today, it provides over 200 meals every week at its regular Thursday session at Manningham Library. The new food bank extends that support by offering grocery parcels to people referred through the sessions, held every Thursday from 4:00pm to 5:30pm.
Bana Gora, CEO of the Muslim Women’s Council, said: “The Curry Circle has always been about more than just food, it’s about dignity, community, and hope. By launching the Curry Circle Food Bank in partnership with Nourish & Hope, we are able to respond to the growing need in Bradford. Together, we can ensure that families do not go hungry and that support is available when it is needed most.”
The food bank has been made possible thanks to the generosity of community partners, donors and volunteers, whose contributions continue to support some of Bradford’s most vulnerable residents.
