A vacant vehicle showroom in Bradford could be transformed into a large banqueting hall and food preparation facility under new plans submitted to the council.

The former Northside Truck Hire site on Legrams Lane, which previously operated as a Mercedes-Benz and FUSO dealership, closed last year.

Now, the Icestone Group has submitted a planning application to Bradford Council seeking permission to change the use of the one-acre site.

The proposals include 844 square metres of food manufacturing space, a large banqueting hall with a balcony, a bridal suite and office accommodation.

If approved, the development would also provide 129 parking spaces.

Planning documents state the scheme is expected to create 15 full-time and 15 part-time jobs.

Bradford Council is expected to make a decision on the application in October.
