A man who attacked two people with a gardening tool outside Bradford College has been jailed for three years and one month.
David Noutch, 32, of no fixed abode, was detained by college security staff after attacking people on Great Horton Road on the morning of 9 October 2025.
Police were called at 9.21am to reports of a man armed with a small gardening tool attacking people in the street. Security staff intervened before attending officers arrested him.
Two people were injured and received treatment for injuries described as non-life-threatening.

Noutch admitted offences including common assault, racially aggravated common assault, two counts of racially aggravated fear of violence, and threatening a person with a blade in a public place.
He was sentenced at Bradford Crown Court on Wednesday 14 October 2026.
Detective Superintendent Al Weekes, of West Yorkshire Police, condemned the attack and praised the security staff who stepped in.
“We welcome the sentence for Noutch today. His violent and racist behaviour was appalling,” he said.
“It was a busy area with lots of college children and members of the public going about their daily lives and his actions caused fear and alarm in the local community.”
Det Supt Weekes said the intervention prevented further harm.
“I would like to praise the security staff at the college for intervening on what was a dangerous situation, they undoubtably stopped Noutch from carrying out further harm.”
