The Bradford Diwali Awards 2024 is back and will take place at the Cedar Court
Hotel on Friday 18 October.
The inaugural Bradford Diwali Awards were organized by the Bradford Hindu Council
in 2023 and celebrated the unsung heroes of the local Hindu community.
The sold-out event took place at the Odsal Stadium on Thursday 26 October 2023
and was marked by an electrifying atmosphere that showcased vibrant colours,
traditional and modern attire, and a strong sense of togetherness.
The awards ceremony aimed to honour individuals and groups who have made
significant contributions to the community, reflecting the unity, diversity, and cultural
richness of Bradford.
Guests from various backgrounds and age groups gathered, emphasising the power
of community bonds. Organisers say the event served as a reflection of the resilient
spirit of the Hindu community in Bradford, promising to become a cherished tradition.
The Bradford Diwali Awards aims to continue this legacy and highlight the diverse
achievements of individuals and groups within the community. It underscored
Bradford’s commitment to celebrating unity, diversity, and community resilience,
setting a precedent for future celebrations.
“We are delighted we can continue with the benchmark we set at our inaugural
awards last year,” organiser Ravinder Dharni said. “Diwali is the festival of light and
what better way to share this with our shiny stars of the community. We are looking
forward to year 2 and hope everyone in Bradford can come together and celebrate
with us.”
