Free Home Office eVisa support event to be held at Oasis Lister Park Community Space

Residents across Bradford are being encouraged to attend a free support event aimed at helping individuals transition to the UK’s new digital immigration system.

The session, delivered in partnership with the Home Office Outreach team, will take place at Oasis Lister Park Community Space on 16 April, offering practical, one-to-one guidance for those needing assistance with eVisa documentation.

The initiative forms part of wider efforts to ensure communities are not left behind as immigration status moves online.

Ralph Berry, community leader at Oasis, said the organisation was proud to host the event following the refurbishment of its local facilities.

“We are delighted to host this useful event in our newly refurbished Community Space and help people get free professional support in getting the eVisas they need sorted,” he said.

“This is part of our commitment to supporting the local community as we continue to develop the Oasis Community Space.”

The drop-in session will provide direct access to Home Office advisors, who will support individuals in setting up their UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) accounts and accessing their digital immigration status.

Those eligible for assistance include individuals with Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) or Indefinite Leave to Enter (ILE), who may need to make a No Time Limit (NTL) application to link their status to an eVisa account.

Officials have stressed that moving to an eVisa does not change a person’s immigration rights, and individuals can continue to use their existing physical documents if they wish.

However, the Home Office says the digital system offers several advantages, including secure online access to immigration status, quicker and safer sharing of information, and reduced risk of documents being lost or expiring.

The system is also expected to streamline processes for employment checks, renting property and travelling internationally, with smoother interactions at airline check-ins and UK border control.

Support will also be available for refugees with indefinite leave to remain who hold Home Office travel documents, as well as individuals under the EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS) who may need to update their account details, such as registering a new passport.

Attendees are advised to bring relevant documents, including passports showing ILR or ILE status, any previous immigration documents, and a current passport if different. A mobile phone will also be required to complete the digital setup.

The event will run from 10.30am to 2pm and is open to anyone needing guidance on accessing or updating their eVisa status.

Organisers say the session is particularly important for those who may face digital barriers, ensuring that no one is excluded as services increasingly move online.
