Staff and students at East Morton CE Primary School are celebrating yet another strong Ofsted inspection after inspectors confirmed they remain a “good” school, following a Section 8 Inspection in February 2022.
The report commended the hard work of leaders and teachers in “setting high expectations for pupils’ behaviour and learning”. Inspectors described how “leaders are passionate about ensuring all pupils, including pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities achieve in every aspect of life”.

Perhaps most significantly inspectors praised the children and young people for their attitude and passion for learning, stating “Pupils thrive at East Morton Primary School. They love attending this welcoming and happy school. Parents and carers say their children find learning irresistible and this is evident in all classrooms. Pupils’ behaviour is exemplary”.
The report also recognised how the school exemplifies their motto, ‘everyone, every chance, every day’ and that this also reflects the inclusivity of the school.
The inspectors were particularly impressed with the positive behaviour culture and the well-designed curriculum.
Inspectors noted that school ignites children’s passion for reading and that children learn to read with confidence and fluency. It was also evident that maths is a strength of the school, that children love maths and they achieve well.
Anne Proctor, Headteacher at East Morton CE Primary School said: “Our Ofsted report clearly shows that we have happy children who find learning ‘irresistible’ and that we enable them to flourish into confident, active and responsible young citizens.
“I am pleased that the inspectors recognised that both maths and reading are school strengths alongside our effective personal development programme. The balance between this and our high academic outcomes is something we are very proud of. I am also pleased that the dedication of our staff has been recognised”
Carol Dewhurst OBE, Chief Executive Officer at Bradford Diocesan Academies Trust said: “I am so proud that the hard work and determination of everybody associated with East Morton has been recognised in such a positive report holding up a mirror to a happy and ambitious school.
“East Morton provides great education and life experiences for students every day and this report reflects schools’ high expectations. We are delighted to welcome the new nursery school to the East Morton family and look forward to sharing our strengths, successes and relentless ambition with our very youngest pupils as they join us on our journey”.
East Morton CE Primary School is a 1-form entry Primary School which has recently grown with the addition of a nursery, a month before the inspection.
