Plan in Bradford to flatten former police box and replace it with bungalow is withdrawn

Proposals to flatten a police box to make way for a new home have been withdrawn.

A planning application that would have seen the small police station on Harrogate Road, empty for many years, demolished and replaced were submitted to Bradford Council earlier this Summer.

The plans, by John Middleton, said the site had suffered from litter and fly tipping since the police box was decommissioned.

A bungalow would have been built on the site following the police box’s demolition.

But this week the application was withdrawn. No reason for the plans being pulled have been given.

West Yorkshire Police had commented on the plans, offering the developer advice on how the reduce the risk of crime at the new property once it was built.
