My Delhi scooped two national awards at the prestigious Asian Curry Awards in Mayfair, London held on Sunday, 20 November.
With branches in Newcastle and Sunderland, My Delhi was named Best Street Food Restaurant in the UK for two years running and My Delhi Sunderland clinched Best Newcomer Award.
Since opening in 2019, the award winning Indian street food restaurant has achieved huge success, winning many national accolades including Winner of the BBC show Britain’s Top Takeaways in May 2019.

Serving authentic Delhi street food and cuisine by chefs who hail from Delhi itself, the restaurant has become a popular joint for diners looking for real Indian food.
The chefs have created a magical menu with dishes that were part of their childhood growing up, and dishes that are currently popular on the streets of Delhi.
Whilst there’s no Chicken Tikka Masala and other British curries, it serves traditional dishes like Butter Chicken, their signature dish which originated from Delhi. It also serves the street food staples of Aloo Tikki Chaat, Gol Gappa and Indo-Chinese plates like Chilli Chicken and Cauliflower Manchurian.

Elahi Amin, Director of My Delhi said “It’s been an unbelievable year, eight national awards, eight reasons to celebrate our achievements.
“We wanted to bring something different yet authentic to the restaurant scene where diners could enjoy the traditional dishes of India.
“To win Best Street Food Restaurant in UK for the second year running is a great feeling, and to win an award for our new restaurant in Sunderland shows that we have national appeal.
“All credit goes to our team, who work so hard and are part of the My Delhi family. And our diners who have supported us all the way. Thank you so much.”
Winners were whittled by an online public vote before visiting judges determined the overall winners.
This year winners will also be included in the Asian Catering Federation (ACF) new ‘One Hundred Top Curry Restaurants’ guide, which is being published currently, region-by-region across the UK.
