“Muslamic Makers” to launch West Yorkshire Chapter in Bradford with an aim to empower Muslims in Tech

Muslamic Makers, a group aimed at spreading tech awareness among Muslims is set to launch it’s West Yorkshire chapter on 21 September, in Bradford.

The group began their journey as a monthly meetup in 2016 in London, providing a secure haven for Muslims to exchange ideas, build networks, and foster collaborations. Their primary mission has always been to empower the community through a range of initiatives, including events, mentorship programs, and scholarships.

Over the years, their influence has grown, and they have extended their reach to cities such as Manchester, Boston, and Toronto.

Now the group is looking to launch in Bradford, a city with 30.5% Muslim population.

Zoya Raja, product analyst at AND Digital and a volunteer with Muslamic Makers, said: “The reason we are doing it in West Yorkshire is that tech is a growing industry in the north. We have a great hub in Leeds for technology companies and consultancies. We not only want to cater to the big cities but, also focus on smaller cities, smaller organisations. We want to bring in Bradford, which has a huge Muslim population, we want to bring those people together.

“Going forward, West Yorkshire is going to be very important to drive the tech industry”

Inviting people to attend the launch happening in Bradford, Zoya said: “We’ve had a great success not only in UK but abroad as well. It’s going to be a great opportunity for people to come together and talk about technology, network and enjoy being from the same industry. Hopefully, it’s going to be a start of something amazing in West Yorkshire.
