Food festival to return to Bradford with Council seeking operator

An operator is being sought for a major festival being held in Bradford in May.

Taste BD is a food and drink festival that was last held in City Park over two days in 2023.

The inaugural event attracted over 25,000 visitors to the city centre, and featured displays of public art and performances as well as food and drink stalls.

The festival will return for Bradford’s City of Culture year, and now Bradford Council has put out a tender for a “suitable experienced provider” to deliver the event.

On the Government’s contracts finder website, the tender says: “City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council is seeking tender submissions from suitably experienced and skilled Provider(s) to deliver Taste BD, a high quality, outdoor city centre food and drink market festival in May 2025.

“At the heart of this event will be celebrating local food and drink providers and local craft businesses to drive business opportunities for local small businesses, both those participating in the events and on those on our high streets to drive footfall, increase local spend and support the local economy.”

People have until 13 January to bid for the contract.
