New traders announced for Darley Street Market – including fresh faces and established favourites

In the fresh food hall, four well-known Bradford traders will be making the move from Oastler Market to the new development.

A vibrant mix of new and long-standing traders has been confirmed for the eagerly
anticipated Darley Street Market, set to open in Bradford next month.

Joining the line-up in the market’s food hall are Mexi Bean Express and Jenny’s Jerk
Chicken, bringing bold, international flavours to the city centre.

Mexi Bean Express, which already operates outlets across Yorkshire, will serve up authentic
Mexican cuisine, while Jenny’s Jerk Chicken will offer a taste of the Caribbean with popular
dishes such as jerk chicken, curry goat, saltfish, and traditional rice and peas.

These new additions will sit alongside other recently announced vendors including
Ayubowan (Sri Lankan cuisine), Pizzeria Il Forno, Bab Tooma (Syrian dishes), and a new bar run by Yorkshire’s own Northern Monk Brewery.

In the fresh food hall, four well-known Bradford traders will be making the move from Oastler Market to the new development:

 Taplins Butchers – established in 1916, known for premium quality meat at affordable
prices.
 Solly’s Fruit and Vegetables – a family-run greengrocer specialising in fresh produce,
spices, and kitchen essentials.
 Priestley Fish – a trusted family fishmonger trading since 1911, sourcing from ports
across the UK including Brixham, Peterhead and Bridlington.
 Ikhlas Halal Meat – a HMC-certified butcher offering a range of halal meats, burgers,
and sausages, trading in Bradford since 2012.

The first business to be revealed for the ground floor “Lifestyle Hall” is Blossoms & Co., a popular Bradford florist expanding from its existing shop on nearby Market Street.

Cllr Alex Ross-Shaw, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Regeneration,
Planning and Transport, said: “I’ve always said I wanted Darley Street Market to represent the best of Bradford, and these latest trader announcements show exactly that. The market is set to become the go-to spot to grab a bite to eat, relax with friends, and catch up with family.

“I’m particularly pleased to see so many of the public’s favourite traders from Oastler Market joining us. Their presence will bring a sense of continuity for customers and contribute to the success of the new market.

“It’s also fantastic to see independent businesses like Blossoms & Co expanding into the Lifestyle Hall. We’re excited to welcome everyone to celebrate with us on 12–13 July, with a weekend of events to mark the opening of this state-of-the-art venue at the heart of our city centre regeneration.”
