Bradford architecture firm to design landmark seven-star hotel in Pakistan

A Bradford-based architecture firm have been awarded a contract to design a seven-star hotel in Pakistan fit with a helipad, balcony swimming pools, ten restaurants, and a sky lounge to reflect “a new aspirational reality emerging across Asia.”

A Bradford-based architecture company have been awarded a major contract to design a seven-star hotel in Pakistan fit with a helipad, balcony swimming pools, ten restaurants, and a sky lounge.

The details of where the complex will be located are being kept under wraps by founder, CEO and lead architect at Yeme Architects, Amir Hussain, but the hotel is said to be one of several projects that are being planned in Pakistan in the response to a “new aspirational reality emerging across Asia.”

Founder and CEO of Yeme Architects, Amir Hussain.

Yeme Architects have an expansive portfolio of luxury hotels, complexes, student accommodation, commercial and residential properties. They have planned and designed buildings in Pakistan previously but none as “exclusive” and “aspirational” as this one, Mr Hussain said.

Established a decade ago, the architecture firm is well recognised, with a recent hotel project in York being tipped as one of the world’s “hottest new hotels” by TripAdvisor in 2020.

The clients of the new project cannot be revealed just yet, but they are UK-based and are well known in the hospitality industry. The timescale for the project is also yet known, but a project of this size and magnitude will take at least a couple of years to design and create.

Mr Hussain said: “We have been appointed to design an exclusive luxurious complex in Pakistan by our UK-based clients. We are at the very early stages of concept design for this proposition.

The landmark hotel will include ten restaurants, a helipad, balcony swimming pools, and a sky lounge.

“We are looking to respond to the changing economic landscape that is emerging in Pakistan. The uplift is happening through the technological revolution, the foreign investment that is coming into the country, and the regional position of Pakistan is leading to this type of development.

“The hotel is one of several highly ambitious schemes that are being planned in Pakistan and this scheme is being designed to offer the ultimate luxury living and leisure experience in the country.”

He added: “It is a landmark signature building in Pakistan, and it will have global significance in terms of quality and standards of service and operations. Our clients are very well established in the hospitality sector, so it has the potential to create a new sector of real estate in Pakistan.

“We are keen to develop more in Pakistan and be more involved. Following Brexit, the Government is trying to encourage UK businesses to operate globally, and we see ourselves responding to that call.
