Bradford Asian Restaurants scoop top honours at 2025 Asian Restaurant Awards

Bradford’s renowned dining scene has once again been recognised on the national stage, with three of the city’s best-loved Asian restaurants taking home top honours at the Asian Restaurant Awards 2025, which was held in Manchester on Monday (15 September).

The three Bradford Restaurants winners are:

Lala’s Restaurant – won the Asian Restaurant of the Year – North of England, a reflection of its reputation for combining authentic South Asian flavours with a contemporary dining experience.

International Restaurant – one of Bradford’s longest-standing establishments, was awarded Asian Restaurant of the Year – Yorkshire. Known for its consistency and loyal customer base, the restaurant has been a cornerstone of the city’s culinary landscape for decades.

Akbar’s Group – the Nation celebrated Akbar’s Group, which began in Bradford before expanding across the country, received the prestigious King of Curry award. The award cements its status as one of the UK’s most influential names in Asian dining.

These achievements shine a spotlight on Bradford’s continuing status as the UK’s curry capital, with the city once again proving its influence and excellence in Asian cuisine.

The Asian Restaurant Awards, organised by the Asian Catering Federation, celebrate the very best in Asian dining across the UK, recognising both pioneering newcomers and established favourites.
