Bradford drugs gang jailed for more than 100 years after £4.3m seizure

A courier caught with £4.3 million of cocaine, heroin and crack cocaine was part of a Bradford-led drugs network whose members and associates have now been jailed for more than a century.

Twelve people received prison sentences after an investigation exposed an operation supplying Class A drugs on what West Yorkshire Police described as an “industrial scale”.

The network supplied more than 135kg of Class A drugs across Yorkshire, the Humber and beyond. Officers recovered 55kg of cocaine and heroin during the investigation.

At its head was Idris Khan, 35, of Ashgrove, Bradford, who arranged drug movements through trusted couriers Akif Hashmi and Ibrahim Sajad. Khan was jailed for 16 years at Bradford Crown Court for conspiracies to supply cocaine and heroin.

One of the investigation’s biggest seizures came in August 2025, when officers arrested Hashmi with 20kg of cocaine, 23kg of heroin and three bags of crack cocaine. The haul had a combined street value of £4.3 million.

His wife, Kiran Mahmood, was also present and was subsequently arrested. Hashmi, 23, received 13 years and three months, while Mahmood, 24, was jailed for three years and nine months. Both were sentenced for conspiracies to supply cocaine and heroin.

Two mobile phones seized from another dealer helped investigators establish the scale of the trade.

Ibras Khan, 38, of Naseby Rise, Queensbury, was a customer of the gang. Together with his right-hand man, Ataf Ali, 35, he arranged and facilitated the movement of 31kg of heroin and cocaine over two months.

Officers arrested Ibras Khan in April 2025 and seized the devices. Their contents showed he was dealing directly with the network and arranging large drug movements.

The phone evidence also showed that, between August 2024 and April 2025, he oversaw the supply of more than 52kg of drugs and collected £364,992.

Ibras Khan was jailed for 14 years and nine months for conspiracy to supply cocaine, possession with intent to supply heroin and possession of criminal property. Ali, of Grange Drive, Bradford, received the same sentence for conspiracy to supply cocaine.

In total, 11 men and one woman were sentenced on Monday, 12 October, to prison terms amounting to 114 years and one month.

Detective Inspector Kevin Daly, of West Yorkshire Police’s Force Precision team, said the

investigation had uncovered a sophisticated conspiracy.

“The supply of illegal drugs fuels crime and serious violence in our communities and has devastating impacts,” he said.

He said investigators had targeted every level of the group, including those making substantial profits, and hoped the sentences would reassure communities.
