Services at the Jamia Masjid Tabligh-Ul-Islam mosque in Bradford have suspended after a volunteer tested positive for coronavirus.

The volunteer tested positive this morning and all services at the mosque are suspended until further notice as precautionary step by the mosque on Toller Lane.

Liaqat Hussain, the trustee of Jamia Masjid Tabligh-Ul-Islam mosque, advised people who may have been to the mosque to following government advice and to get tested as soon as possible.

Mr Hussain said: “We have suspended all services until further notice. We are asking people to get tested, stay at home and follow government advice.”

“We will make an assessment and consult with Public Health England and other authorities about the situation.”

“We will remain completely closed until know we can re-open again safely”
