Bradford Sunni Muslim Khalifa Society raises £23,000 for global humanitarian aid

A Bradford community group has raised an impressive £23,000 to support international humanitarian projects, aiding victims of war, displacement, and natural disasters across the globe.

Members of the Bradford Sunni Muslim Khalifa Society (BSMKS) rallied together to collect the sum in support of Human Relief Foundation (HRF), a Bradford-based charity delivering life-saving aid to people in crisis worldwide.

The funds will be directed towards emergency relief efforts in Palestine and Lebanon, as well as HRF’s ongoing international programmes, which provide food, medical supplies, and shelter to communities devastated by war and natural disasters.

The fundraising campaign saw BSMKS members respond to multiple urgent appeals, reflecting the mosque’s long-standing commitment to supporting those in need beyond their local community.

Mohammed Talah, HRF’s Fundraising Coordinator for the North, praised the community’s generosity:

“We are incredibly grateful to the Bradford Sunni Muslim Khalifa Society and its congregation for their remarkable efforts. This £23,000 will bring much-needed relief to families facing unimaginable hardship, particularly those affected by conflict and displacement. Strong community partnerships like this are vital to ensuring aid reaches those who need it most.”

Esmail Suleman, Chair of BSMKS, explained why HRF was the charity of choice:

“We believe in supporting trusted humanitarian organisations that deliver real impact on the ground. Human Relief Foundation’s reputation for transparency and efficiency made it an obvious partner for our fundraising efforts. We are deeply humbled by the generosity of our congregation, and we will continue working to support the world’s most vulnerable communities.”

The Bradford Sunni Muslim Khalifa Society, based at Masjid-e-Usman, has a history of backing charitable causes, both locally and internationally.

This latest fundraising success demonstrates how grassroots community action in Bradford can make a global difference, offering hope and relief to those in crisis across the world.

Both BSMKS and HRF have expressed a desire to build on their partnership, working together on future fundraising drives and humanitarian projects.

The £23,000 raised will contribute to emergency relief as well as long-term development programmes, helping rebuild lives in areas shattered by war and disaster.
