SkillsHouse, Bradford Council’s employability and skills service, will be hosting the first ‘Careers Unlocked’ jobs fair at Bradford City Hall on Thursday, 12 October. The job fair will attract jobs from both public and professional sectors.
The event will take place from 2pm to 7pm and will be open to all job seekers, university students and young people, regardless of age or experience.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from a wide range of public and professional sector employers, including the NHS, local government, education, and the police.
The event will promote a range of careers in the public and professional sectors across –
- Education & Training
- Health and Social Care Adult and Child Services
- Public Services & Law
There will also be a dedicated SkillsHouse Jobshop area, with job boards showcasing live vacancies and Employment Advisers on hand to offer one-to-one support.
Workshops will take place throughout the day on topics such as Working in Care and Applying for Roles in the Civil Service.
Following are the workshops, one can attend at the job fair
- Importance of assessing career guidance
- Workshop on employability
- Career opportunities by CPS
- Working in carehouses
- Applying for Civil services roles
- Applying for roles with the Royal Airforce.
These workshops will run from 1.15pm to 5.30pm, alongside the career fair.
In addition to networking with potential employers, attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in workshops on CV writing and interview skills. There will also be a dedicated space for attendees to get help with their job search from SkillsHouse staff.

“This event is a great opportunity for people to learn about different public and professional sector job opportunities, network with potential employers, and get help with their job search.
