Company director in hot water after failing to maintain students flats

He will next appear before the court for a trial on 29 November.

A director of a property company that manages student accommodation near the University of Bradford has appeared in court in relation to the maintenance of student flats.

Bhupinder Chohan, of B and M Properties 1 Ltd, based in London, appeared before Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court last month after he and the firm were charged with failing to comply with an abatement notice.

Court documents state that between 13 May and 1 October last year, there was a failure to reinstate the gas supply to All Saints Hall and Trinity B at Laisteridge Lane Student Village, Laisteridge Lane, to “ensure the satisfactory supply of hot water to the kitchen and bathroom facilities to the said buildings and thus abate any recurrence of the said statutory nuisance within the said buildings, imposed by the notice”.

Mr Chohan denied the offence and will next appear before the court for a trial on 29 November.
