An empty house owned by Bradford Council will be sold at auction next week – but any buyer will have to make the property liveable within six months.
84 Broadstone Way will go under the hammer at an online property auction on Tuesday, 23 September with a guide price of £75,000.
The listing, by Pugh auctions, describes the house, which has been empty for years, as a “renovation project” that requires “complete refurbishment.”
In recent years Bradford Council has taken possession of vacant properties with the view to re-selling them and bring long empty housing stock back into use.
The listing details the condition of this particular sale, saying the buyer must “renovate the property to a habitable condition for occupation as a dwelling house within a period of six months.
“In the event of default, the Council will have the option to buy back the property.
“The buyer will not be able to sell the property whilst the restriction is in place and up until the restriction has been removed with the Council’s consent.
“During the renovation period, the Buyer is to maintain contact with the Council with regards to progress of works. The Buyer is expected to reasonably co-operate with officers to facilitate site inspections.”
