Salma Pandor, Forget Me Not’s community engagement officer, said, “When people visit Russell House, they’re often surprised at what they discover. Where they might have imagined somewhere sad, gloomy, or even scary, they find a real home-from-home, a place of comfort and support, even laughter and joy.”
One of the main objectives of these open days is to challenge misconceptions surrounding children’s hospices. Salma Pandor continued, “This can help to break down some of the negative perceptions that people in the community can have about children’s hospices. People think we’re the same as a hospital, or that we’re just here to provide end-of-life care. But that’s not the case – and our open days are a great way to see that for yourself. Please do come along – we’d love to see you!”
Forget Me Not is hosting two open days:
Wednesday, 4 October, 10 am to 4 pm: Businesses, schools, and groups are cordially invited to attend this open day. To arrange a visit and guided tour, interested parties are encouraged to contact fundraising@forgetmenotchild.co.uk.
Saturday, 7 October, 10 am to 2 pm: The second open day is open to all members of the community, who are welcome to drop in at any time during these hours.
