A car sales site could become a new industrial estate if plans submitted to Bradford Council are approved.
The land behind 120 – 144 Bowling Hall Road is the former home of Bowling Park Laundry and is currently used for car storage and sales.
A planning application submitted by Noor Mohammed would see ten industrial units built on the site, along with parking for 39 vehicles.
The application says: “In the past the site housed the Bowling Park Laundry but has been closed for more than 10 years.
“The site successfully housed the large activity that is associated with a commercial laundry. This didn’t present any issues in terms of noise, access for commercial vehicles into/ out of the site, parking etc for the residents.
“The proposed development will lend itself nicely to the existing commercial hubs situated off Rooley Lane.
“These units will be targeting locally based businesses who require a prime location for their new and/or existing business.”
It says the existing car sales business employs two full-time staff, and the new development would have 20 full-time staff on the site. The businesses would operate from 8am to 8pm.
A decision on the application is expected later this month.
