Teachers at a Gateshead school have compiled a fun video for their students by taking part in the “toilet roll challenge”.The video, to “Proud Mary” by Tina Turner, shows staff at Cedars Academy take part in the “toilet roll challenge” by passing a roll of the now scarce bathroom essential to each other.
Cedars Academy is a school for young people aged 3 to 19 years with physical, sensory and medical needs, speech, language and communication disorders, autism, and a wide range of other complex needs.
PE teacher Peter Dent said: “Due to the difficult and challenging times within the current climate, Cedars Trust staff decided to take part in the toilet roll challenge.
“The aim was to get staff involved in a communal event while socially distancing and producing a feel good film for our students, parents and carers.
“After giving students an idea of the challenge we asked have them to produce their own.
“This will help promote social wellbeing, community involvement and strengthen the school family.
“Students can be creative with ideas while embedding fundamental IT skills.”
