South Shields based, Shajidul Haque has won his debut fight at Acres FC 8 in Paris on Friday 2 September.
The Almighty FC Flyweight champion earned his 14th win on a split decision over Samir Faiddine.
Shajidul’s victory has firmly put him on the map as ‘the one to watch’ particularly as he continued to demonstrate throughout during his fight at Le Dome De Paris, that he was better than his French counterpart for the majority of the fight.
The 31-year-old is already a flyweight champion in the UK and has already proved how good he is. And now he has delivered on the international stage securing 14-5 as a professional, giving him more experience under his belt.
Speaking after his fight Shajidul also known as ‘Superman’ said: “I just competed in ARES Fighting Championships, which is a major French MMA promotion and one of the largest in Europe.
“I fought and defeated Samir Faiddine who was France’s number one Flyweight and former Cage Warriors World Champion.
“This promotion had UFC officials present and I am hoping this win will either give me the opportunity to fight for ARES vacant World title or gain a UFC contract.
“I aim to become the first Bangladeshi MMA fighter in the UFC and am hoping this win brings me another step closer”
Shajidul trains at the ACE academy in South Shields, along with his brother and nephew and hopes to inspire more people of Bangladeshi and South Asian heritage to get involved in MMA.
