Bradford 2025 is aiming to recruit 15-20 young people to join a new Youth Panel which will have the unique opportunity to help shape the direction of the district’s transformational, celebratory year of culture.
Applicants do not need any previous experience – just an interest and enthusiasm to be part of Bradford’s year-long celebration; and a passion to show what a unique and special place Bradford is.
As part of the Youth Panel, young people will plan a range of activities across the Bradford 2025 artistic programme, education and training work, audience engagement and beyond. They will also have opportunities to attend skill-building workshops and masterclasses from some of the UK’s, and the world’s, leading artists and creative professionals and be part of the Bradford 2025 Board of Trustees – the group of experts who support and scrutinise Bradford 2025’s work and make sure goals are met.
Bradford 2025 believe that this is a great opportunity for young people in the district to enhance their CV’s and meet other likeminded people.
John McMahon, Head of Engagement – Skills and Volunteers, at Bradford 2025 said: “Bradford is the UK’s youngest city, and its young people played an integral role in us being named UK City of Culture. We want to ensure that young people remain at the heart of Bradford 2025 and that their voices are valued in our decision-making processes. Our Youth Panel members will have an incredible opportunity to help shape artistic events and participate, learn, train, work and flourish across the whole Bradford district.”
Applicants must be aged between 15-20 and live in postcodes BD1-BD22 and LS29. For more information please visit: https://bradford2025.co.uk/2023/11/28/be-on-our-youth-panel/
