Kirklees Council plans memorial service for Her Late Majesty The Queen on 18 September

The Kirklees Council will hold Special memorial services to honour her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at Huddersfield Parish Church and Dewsbury Minster. Both services would take place on Sunday 18 September at 7:15pm respectively on the eve of the Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s state funeral at Westminster Abbey.

The Kirklees Council has invited members of the public to attend either venue to pay their respects to Her Majesty the Queen.

The service at Huddersfield Parish Church will be attended by Deputy Mayor of Kirklees, Councillor Cahal Burke; Leader of the Council, Councillor Shabir Pandor and the Mayor of West Yorkshire, Tracy Brabin.

Attending the service of prayer and reflection at Dewsbury Minster will be the Mayor of Kirklees, Councillor Masood Ahmed along with local dignitaries. Both services will be attended by multi- faith leaders and members of the public.

Anyone unable to attend the service in person, it is being live streamed and available for everyone to view on the Kirklees Council You Tube channel.

Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II passed away on 8 September at Balmoral. Her funeral will take place on 19 September at Westminster Abbey. The Queen, presently, lies-in-state in Westminster Hall where she arrived through a procession from Buckingham Palace on 14 September.
