A new café will soon be opening in a newly pedestrianised area of Bradford city centre.
8 Bank Street was once home to Kroustie, a long-standing sandwich shop that shut in 2017.
Since then it has been occupied by cafés Fresh Fillingz and The Nest, but the unit has been empty since the start of the Covid 19 Pandemic.
A planning application for new signage for a business called Lela’s Café has been submitted to Bradford Council by Bradford based Delicious Falafel Ltd.
That area of the city centre, yards from the Broadway Shopping Centre, has changed dramatically in the past year.
This area of Bank Street had been a busy road linking Hall Ings to Broadway.
It was often clogged up by double parked vehicles dropping people off in the city centre.
But in the past year the area has been pedestrianised, with planters and new seating in the area replacing the road.
A decision on the signage application is expected next month.
