Omicron cases rising in Bradford with 19 people confirmed to have the variant

Cases of Omicron in Bradford is on the rise with 19 people testing positive for the Covid-19 variant with a further 203 suspected cases identified.

Between 14 December and 20 December, 1,970 people had a confirmed positive test result. This shows an increase of 24.8% compared to the previous 7 days.

That’s a rate of 260.1. cases for every 100,000 people.

73.3% of people in Bradford have received their first Covid-19 jab and 65.85 of people have received their second dose. 89.5% of people nationally have received the first jab, and 81.8% have received the second vaccine.

175,564 or 35.3% of people in Bradford have received a booster shot. This is lower than the national average of around 50.4%.

Between 14 December and 20 December, there have been 8 deaths within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test in the district. This is an increase of 33.3% compared to the previous 7 days.
