Plans to build a 20-metre-high phone mast near the M606 have been approved by Bradford Council.
Telecommunications company Cornerstone had applied to erect the large mast on a grass verge on Chase Way, a short distance from the Ceder Court Hotel.
The pole would have six antennae on it, and three equipment cabinets. The application said the site was the best location to provide improved local phone coverage.
The application has now been approved by Bradford Council.
Planners said: “The proposed development is not considered to be an overly intrusive feature within the street scene and will not cause any significant visual harm to the appearance of the area.
“The improvements to local coverage need to be balanced against the visual impact of the street pole and associated work.
“Supporting documents demonstrate that other locations within the area were considered but were discounted with this site deemed to be the most appropriate location to provide the required coverage, located away from direct views of residential properties, and will ensure pedestrian movement and safety is not impeded.
“The location with the surrounding trees will also help to minimise visual intrusion.”
