A cafe could soon be installed on an area of land that is used by “random people leaving their vehicles for long duration of time.”
A planning application to install a converted portable cabin, which will be used as an “express café” on an area of land off Leeds Road has been submitted to Bradford Council.
The site, between a car wash and a carpet store, is on one of the city’s busiest routes.
But the application, by Mohammed Jahangir Ahmed, says the site is currently not used to its full potential.
The application says: “The grounds in which the scheme is proposed is not utilised to any extent apart for random people leaving their vehicles for long duration of time which potentially turns into days and weeks.
“The concept is for an express café serving hot and cold beverages. All food items will be traditional British Asian snacks that require no on-site preparation.
“Leeds Road benefits from a variety of hot food takeaways and cafes. The proposed cafe will be a new trend which mainly serves traditional beverages with a touch of infusion.
“The proposal will add something unique in a cafe outlet to Leeds Road and bring a different concept overall for its users.”
A decision on the application is expected in February.
