Teenager charged with raping two women in Leeds

He will go before a judge next month.

A teenager has appeared in court today charged with three counts of rape.

Robunni Yohannes, aged 18, of Marlborough Street, Woodhouse, has been charged with two counts of rape in relation to an incident in Henbury Street last Friday.

He was also charged for raping a woman in Armley, on 4 July last year.

The incidents involve two separate women.

He appeared at Leeds Magistrates Court this morning and was remanded in custody until April 20 when he is due to appear at Leeds Crown Court.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police, said: “A man has appeared in court today charged over the rape of two women in Leeds.

“Robunni Yohannes, aged 18, of Marlborough Street, Woodhouse, has been charged with three counts of rape in relation to an incident in Henbury Street, Leeds, on Friday, 18 March, and one count of rape in relation to an incident in Town Street, Armley, on 4 July last year.

“He appeared at Leeds Magistrates Court this morning and was remanded in custody until 20 April when he is due to appear at Leeds Crown Court.”
