Ovacome, the UK’s ovarian cancer support charity, will host ‘An Audience with Manisha Koirala’ at the Shaw Theatre in London, on the afternoon of Sunday 13 July 2025. This intimate and moving event will give attendees the rare opportunity to see Manisha Koirala in person as she reflects on her remarkable life—from global fame as a Bollywood icon to the deeply personal challenges she faced following her diagnosis with ovarian cancer. Manisha will be interviewed by our very own Editor, Fatima Patel, and Dr Amir Khan, who is an NHS GP, bestselling author and a TV doctor on Good Morning Britain and Lorraine.
Manisha will share insights into her career, the emotional and physical toll of her illness, and the resilience, strength and community that carried her through. She will also give a powerful reading from her memoir, ‘Healed’, offering a unique and personal perspective on her journey through diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. The event will raise vital awareness of ovarian cancer, its symptoms, as well as the stigma and misinformation around the disease whilst also generating essential funds for Ovacome’s work.

7,500 people are diagnosed with ovarian cancer every year, and one in 50 people can expect a diagnosis in their lifetime. Known as an ‘uncommon cancer’ because of these statistics, many diagnosed with the disease can become isolated, which is why raising awareness and spotlighting this disease is so crucial. Manisha, who became Ovacome’s Ambassador in January 2025, has been championing the needs of those affected by the disease in her role with the charity, offering words of encouragement and hope while shedding light on the importance of early detection, community and support systems.
Speaking about her excitement for this upcoming event in July Manisha has said: “Surviving stage 4 ovarian cancer was not just a battle of the body, but a transformation of the soul. I’ve been given a second chance at life, and I believe it is my purpose to use my voice to bring hope, raise awareness, and ensure that no woman feels alone in this journey. Partnering with Ovacome is deeply personal — together, we are not just fighting cancer, we are empowering lives. I’m truly looking forward to meeting you all at this intimate gathering — to share my story, but just as importantly, to interact with you and hear yours”
Ovacome CEO Victoria Clare added: “We are so excited to be organising this unique event, Manisha has been very vocally supportive of our community and her commitment to help us raise vital funds at this time is so typical of her generosity and kindness. We are also incredibly grateful to our official media partner, Asian Standard for their support. With so many developments in the treatment of ovarian cancer it is increasingly important that we raise awareness of this disease as a community.”
