The race to become the next Mayor of London is well underway, and the official, ‘Statement of Persons Nominated’ has been published. It encompasses everyone from independent candidates to those affiliated with both small and large political parties.
With the election being hotly contested, and many different candidates putting forward their takes on key issues, such as the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ), knife crime and housing, it will certainly be interesting to see who wins.
In the coming weeks, The Asian Standard will be publishing profiles, holding the candidates to account on their policies and political viewpoints, and detailing their own vision for the future of London if elected.
The election is due to be held on 2 May 2024.
