A Bradford GP has returned to work after self-isolating following covid-19 symptoms and wants to make an appeal to help fight the pandemic.

Dr Uzma Qureshi is a qualified doctor and has been working as a GP in Bradford for more than twelve years. She returned to her role as a General Practitioner for the  Allerton Health Centre on Bell Dean Road in Bradford this week following seven days of self-isolation.

On returning to work Dr Qureshi told Asian Sunday that in her entire career she has never had to sign so many death certificates in a single day.

During her drive across Bradford on Wednesday Dr Qureshi was sad to see so many people still out in groups basking in the recent good weather. This prompted the experienced doctor to appeal to residents in a video to follow guidelines to help fight the virus.

The video features Dr Qureshi speaking in urdu offering tips and advice on how to keep safe, prepared, as well as protected from covid-19.

“We are trying to keep you safe and everyone else.” Advises Dr Qureshi

“If we all follow this advice together and do our best in fighting this then we have better chances of getting rid of this infection”
