Vision Consulting, a boutique firm of chartered accountants and registered auditors, has helped raise more than $150,000 for the Bionics Institute in a recent charity appeal.
The firm, established in 2002 by Managing Director Ghulam Alahi and registered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), has long been committed to supporting important causes through its corporate social responsibility initiatives.
The Bionics Institute, a leader in pioneering medical research and the development of devices to combat hearing loss, was the beneficiary of Vision Consulting’s latest charity drive. The funds raised will contribute to the institute’s ongoing work, which is transforming the lives of those affected by hearing impairments.
Highlighting the impact of this partnership, West Ham United player Mackenzie Arnold, who has personally benefited from the institute’s innovations, shared her inspiring story in a conversation with Nancy Baker. Arnold, who has a hearing impairment, opened up about how the Bionics Institute’s cutting-edge technology has significantly improved her life, both personally and professionally.
In conjunction with the charity event, Vision Consulting introduced the ‘Read My Lips Challenge’ to raise awareness about hearing loss. West Ham United Women’s players Mini and Kirsty took on the challenge, which involved trying to understand phrases without the aid of hearing, simulating the experience of those with hearing impairments.
This interactive initiative not only entertained attendees but also offered insight into the daily challenges faced by individuals with hearing loss. It also provided a glimpse into how professional athletes like Arnold work to enhance their auditory skills to perform at the highest level.
The collaboration between Vision Consulting and the Bionics Institute highlights the power of community and corporate responsibility in addressing important health issues.
Vision Consulting plans to continue its charitable efforts, with plans to launch a dedicated platform that will allow its influential network to engage and donate to future causes.
