The Yorkshire Chapter Inaugural Dinner of The Citizens Foundation UK promises not only a glamorous evening but also an opportunity to make a substantial contribution to the education of underprivileged children in Pakistan.
Sharaz Dutt, one of the organisers said: “This is the inaugural dinner for the citizen’s foundation’s Yorkshire chapter. We were initially looking to launch in 2020, but due to Covid we had to delay everything. Meanwhile, we did little fundraisers here and there, in between over the last three years. In 2020 we did a virtual quiz, as an awareness initiative for the charity in Yorkshire. I ran a 10k in 2021 to raise money for supporting education in Pakistan. Earlier this year in May we did a hike and managed to raise over ÂŁ30k.
“The money that we raise, goes to raising enough funds that supports schools for a whole year. Now finally we are able to do a dinner, to introduce the charity to Yorkshire. We just want the people to be aware what the charity is about, what sort of work we do. They’ve got around 1900 schools throughout Pakistan, almost 300,000 students. There is a split of 50% between boys and girls.
“The money raised through the dinner will go to providing education to kids in Pakistan, it might go to schools that need funds this moment.”
The foundation is inviting people to join in the dinner, donate what they can and support it’s initiative. People who can’t attend the dinner have also been invited to donate through this link
