£200,000 worth of drugs and cash seized in Bradford police raids

Police have seized drugs and cash worth more than £200,000 after executing a series of warrants in the BD3 area of Bradford over the past two days.

Officers from Bradford East Neighbourhood Policing Team, supported by the Precision Team, carried out the raids on 9 and 10 December as part of ongoing efforts to disrupt the illegal supply of drugs.

Four people have been charged in connection with the operation.

  • Akeel Khan, 30, of Folkestone Street, Bradford, has been charged with possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply and remanded in custody.

  • Danyaal Hussain, 27, of Amberley Street, Bradford, has been charged with possession of Class A and Class B drugs with intent to supply, and acquiring, using or possessing criminal property. He has also been remanded in custody.

  • Haseena Akhter, 24, of Amberley Street, Bradford, has been charged with possession of Class A and Class B drugs with intent to supply, and acquiring, using or possessing criminal property. She has been released on bail.

  • Sirmand Ali, 25, of Thornbury Road, Bradford, has been charged with possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply and remanded in custody.

Inspector Mark Chapman, of Bradford East Neighbourhood Policing Team, said the operation involved multiple policing units working together.

“This action saw several different teams working collaboratively, including PCSOs, officers from the Clear, Hold, Build team, specialist search officers and the Dog Unit,” he said.

“We know that drug dealing and the criminality associated with it is a concern for people in the local area, and we will continue to do all we can to tackle it.”

He urged anyone with information about drug dealing to report it via the West Yorkshire Police website.
