Police were called to a quiet street in Leeds today at approximately 3.15 pm after a report of domestic assault was made.
Over eleven police cars were seen at Iveson Drive in the Lawnswood area following the initial investigation.
As officers were making enquiries at the address they were attacked by a man, leading to a request for more officers to attend the incident.
A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting emergency workers and grievously bodily harm and was taken into custody, with three officers sustaining minor injuries.
The woman was taken into hospital for treatment and will continue to be supported by specially trained officers.
Enquires are continuing at the scene.
