Bradford businesses have won big at the sixth annual Britain’s Asian Wedding Awards 2022 held in Bolton last week.
Bradford took home ten top accolades as well as two businesses being honoured as the best in Yorkshire.
Bradford business owners picked up Beauty Salon of the Year, Stationary Provider of the Year, Asian Wedding Sweets Supplier of the Year, Traditional Jewellers of the Year, Wedding Boutique of the Year, Wedding Caterer of the Year, Photographer of the Year, Henna Artist of the Year, Wedding Venue of the Year, and Banqueting Suite of the Year.

Created by Oceanic Consulting, which also hosts the English Curry Awards, the British Muslims Awards and the British Sikh Awards, among others, presented the awards to celebrate those who service Britain’s ever-growing Asian wedding industry.
It rewarded the graft of excellent suppliers and thanked those who go above and beyond to make someone’s special day the most memorable of their life.
The Great Victoria Hotel at the heart of Bradford City Centre brought home the trophy in the Wedding Venue of the Year category.
Asma Bibi, sales manager at The Great Victoria Hotel, said: “We were nominated and won the Asian Wedding Venue of the Year Award. We do a minimum of between 45 to 50 traditional and Asian weddings every year.
“We are enormously proud of this as we were up against some great venues. The team has worked really hard and have put a lot of effort into delivering the weddings that we do. For our Asian weddings, we offer room-only packages so that our clients can bring their own catering or decorating company to be as flexible as possible.
“Everyone tends to have their own catering company, set of suppliers, or people in the family that they have always used, so offering this type of package just gives our brides and grooms flexibility in terms of what they want.

Aziz Catering won Overall Wedding Caterer of the Year. Aziz Ahmed, owner of Aziz Catering, said: “I was absolutely shocked when it was announced that we won the Wedding Caterer of the Year Yorkshire.
“I wasn’t expecting to win, there were a lot of other caterers from Bradford who have been around a lot longer than I have, but I am really pleased that we were given this.
“We have worked tirelessly over the years to get where we are, and it is all thanks to our friends and our customers. It is also thanks to our incredible staff; we wouldn’t be where we are without them.”
For the second time in a row, Rub’s Salon has picked up the top accolade Beauty Salon of the Year. Ruby Shah, owner of Ruby’s Salon, said: “We are so excited that we won the Overall Beauty Studio of the Year of Award.
“We will continue to offer our excellent services and treatments to our clients. My team works awfully hard, and I would like to thank them.

“Twenty-two years ago, I came from Pakistan and set up this business, it is all hard work but extremely rewarding.
“I am a female business owner, but my family helps me a lot, not in business but managing the house.”
Dulhan Boutique was named the Asian Clothing Boutique of the Year Yorkshire.
Zafar Iqbal, owner of Dulhan, said: “We are so excited that we won this award. I think it is the third time that we have won it, so we are used to it. We got to attend the award ceremony in Bolton which was a good experience.”
A spokesperson for Britain’s Asian Wedding Awards 2022 said: “The winners represent the gold standard of Britain’s Asian wedding industry. The awards celebrated those who work tirelessly to meet the demands of the couples and their guests.
“These champions are tried and tested specialists that know how to create a stress-free wedding experience, keeping the romance in the air. We would like to congratulate all finalists and winners for their amazing achievements.”
