Bradford woman given community order for driving while disqualified

She was given a community order for her crimes.

A woman from Manningham has appeared in court for driving while disqualified.

Sabeela Bibi, 32, of Sahara Court, was disqualified from holding or obtaining, a driving licence for eight months after being convicted of driving while disqualified.

The court heard that she drove a motor vehicle on North Avenue, Bradford, while disqualified from driving on 24 December 2021.

Ms Bibi pleaded guilty and was given a community order and ordered to pay a £95 victim surcharge and £85 costs for the offence.

The community order also covered a charge of driving a vehicle on a road/in a public place without due care and attention on the same day.

A community order is a non-custodial sentence which requires an offender to perform community service, observe a curfew, or undergo treatment for addictions instead of going to prison.

Ms Bibi’s community order also covered her being re-sentenced for three incidences of stealing from Next at the Broadway Shopping Centre between 17 Decemeber and 21 Decemeber last year.

On 17 Decemeber, she was caught stealing clothes worth £285. On 19 December she was caught stealing clothes worth £293 and caught shoplifting clothes worth £33 on 21 Decemeber.

Bibi was sentenced at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates’ Court on 13 April 2022.
