Driver involved with car collision in Bradford that killed a 57-year-old man questioned but not charged

A driver that was involved in a car collision that killed 57-year-old Haji Binyamin has been questioned but released by West Yorkshire Police.

A driver involved in a fatal collision in Bradford has been released under investigation.

Haji Binyamin, who was 57-years-old and from Thornbury, died after being hit by a car in a collision on Leeds Old Road in Thornbury last Friday.

The crash took place took place outside of a row of shops between Thornbury Grove and Thornbury Avenue.

West Yorkshire Police was called to reports of a crash involving a pedestrian and vehicle at 6.42am by Yorkshire Ambulance Service.

Mr Haji was rushed to the hospital but died shortly after.

Last Friday, the police said the driver of the vehicle had stopped at the scene following the crash and is helping officers with their investigation.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police has revealed that the driver was spoken to by officers and then later released under investigation.

Enquiries into the crash are continuing and police launched an appeal for witnesses last Friday afternoon.
