Education plan for listed Bradford mill

An education provider has submitted plans for one floor of a Bradford city centre Mill.

The UK curriculum and accreditation body has submitted a planning application to convert office space on the third floor of Ambler Mill, off Valley Road, to office and education use.

The Grade II, 19th Century mill is one of Bradford’s best preserved mills, and is already used as office space by a number of organisations.

The application says: “UK CAB is a UK based, not for profit educational, training, awarding, accreditation and quality assurance charity that provide training to those who need to develop skills in all manner of ways including hygiene, healthcare but also finance and business.

“It is proposed to use the third floor of Ambler Mill building predominantly for office and administrative purposes, but have the option to occasionally provide training and education workshops to its clients within the space also.”

It says there will be minor changes to the building’s fabric.

A decision on the application is expected by the end of the year.
