Police are appealing for witnesses to a road traffic collision in Huddersfield in which a pedestrian suffered fatal injuries.
The incident happened on Manchester Road at around 00:40 this morning, Monday, 28 March.
The male pedestrian was walking along Manchester Road towards Huddersfield when he crossed the road and was in collision with a blue Audi Quattro travelling away from Huddersfield.
The incident happened about 600 metres away from the junction with Cowlersley Lane.
Police have shut the A62 Manchester Road, near Milnsbridge, after a serious crash.
The road is closed in both directions with police carrying out accident investigation work.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police, said: “Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or the circumstances leading up to it, or who may have dashcam footage, is asked to contact West Yorkshire Police on 101, or online here, quoting reference 045 of 28/3.”
