Remarkable £800k achieved as Nazim Ali leads charity drive in Lebanon Ramadan deployment

In a remarkable demonstration of compassion and generosity, Nazim Ali, a renowned community champion and philanthropist, spearheaded a humanitarian mission in Lebanon during the holy month of Ramadan, surpassing the £800,000 mark for charitable causes. The deployment, organised in collaboration with the Nazim Ali Foundation and Dewsbury-based SKT Welfare charity, unfolded from the 8 to 14 March, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of thousands in need.

The deployment showcased a staggering array of support, with the distribution of essential items reaching unprecedented levels of assistance. A snapshot of the outreach effort includes:

3,800 Ramadan Food Parcels
2,800 Kg Dates
4,000 Kg Fruit
2,660 Hygiene packs
Annual rent for 58 tents
Sweets and Toys
3,500 hot meal Iftars
Zakat in cash

Reflecting on the magnitude of the mission, Nazim Ali shared insights into the profound realities faced by the communities they served. The journey took the team through Palestinian and Syrian refugee camps, where decades of displacement and hardship have left deep scars. In Palestinian camps like those in Beirut, Tripoli, and Baalbek, generations have endured the challenges of restricted opportunities and uncertain futures.

The deployment’s itinerary also traversed Syrian refugee camps near the border city of Homs, shedding light on the resilience of those enduring unimaginable hardships. Despite the scarcity of resources, Ali emphasised the unwavering spirit and hope that pervaded these dusty, arid landscapes. The impact of their efforts was palpable, as they witnessed the transformative power of a simple act of kindness in the smiles of children amidst adversity.

Ali extended his gratitude to the supporters and sponsors who made the mission possible, highlighting the invaluable contributions of corporate sponsors like SaveCo Bradford and local businesses like Aromè of Leeds Road, Bradford. Their unwavering support underscored the solidarity of the community in addressing global challenges with local solutions.

For Ali, this deployment marks another milestone in a distinguished career of service and advocacy. Having raised over £800,000 for charitable causes over the past decade, his commitment to making a difference continues to inspire and uplift communities worldwide. From royal recognition at the Queen’s Garden Party to receiving an Honorary Fellowship from the University of Bradford, Ali’s legacy of compassion resonates far beyond borders.

Nazim told Asian Standard: “I would like to say a big thank you to all of the donors who donated money, because we simply deliver charity from the funds the donors provide, so all the prayers and blessings that the recipients utter to us, are actually for you the donors and I am proud to convey them back.

“My initial target was £7,500 yet I raised a staggering £26,060 which was 3.5 times more than what I anticipated.

“I am an award-winning community champion and so far I have raised over £800,000 for charity over the last decade alone. In May 2022 I attended the Queens Garden Party in recognition of my community and charity work and in July 2023 I received an Honorary Fellowship from the University of Bradford.

People’s generosity has exceeded all my expectations and has allowed me to reach such heights for which I am truly grateful”.

Well, Nazim’s work certainly reinforces the notion that true change begins with collective action. As the echoes of their mission reverberate through the corridors of compassion, Ali’s unwavering dedication serves as a beacon of hope for a brighter, more inclusive future.

In a world often mar stand adversity, Nazim Ali’s unwavering commitment to humanitarian causes stands as a testament to the transformative power of empathy and solidarity. As we reflect on the impact of his latest deployment, let us be reminded that it is through acts of kindness and compassion that we illuminate the path towards a more just and equitable world.
