A retrospective planning application to use a shipping container as a cupcake shop has been refused by Bradford Council planning officers.
Cupcake Cravings has operated out of the pink container at the busy Ingleby Road food court since early 2020 without the benefit of planning permission.
This Summer a retrospective application to keep the bright pink converted structure on the site was submitted to Bradford Council by Amaan Ellahi.
However planning officers have now refused this planning application, saying: “The structure is not of good design and is not considered to be appropriate in this setting.
“It is considered to be a poor quality structure not in keeping with the surrounding area and so is considered to be unacceptable in terms of its impact on visual amenity.”
The Ingleby Road Food Court also includes restaurants, such as Mother Hubbards, takeaways and a chai tea stand.
