Seven men arrested for beating lone male up on Mortimer Avenue late at night

The victim has been described as an Asian male in his twenties wearing a dark grey tracksuit.

Detectives in Bradford are appealing for information following a serious assault in the early hours of this morning.

The incident occurred at approximately 12.24am when it was reported that a large group of males were seen to be fighting on Mortimer Avenue.

The group of males were seen to be assaulting one male, who had fallen to the floor during the incident.

Emergency services attended and no one was found with any injuries.

It is believed the victim of the assault may have left the area before emergency services arrived and has not yet been located.

The victim has been described as an Asian male in his twenties wearing a dark grey tracksuit.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Farrell of Bradford District Police said: “Our investigation is in the early stages, but I want to reassure residents in the area that we believe this to be an isolated incident.

“We have arrested seven males in connection with this incident who all remain in police custody at this time.

“We are encouraging the victim of the assault or anyone who may have witnessed the assault to come forward with information that may assist with our enquiries.

“A police scene remains in place this morning on Mortimer Avenue whilst investigative work is carried out.”
