Nooran Sisters Sufi sensations

When Jyoti and Sultana were seven and five years old, Mir found their potential as they were playing at home and sang ‘kulli vichon ni yaar lab lai,’ a Bulleh Shah kalam they had learned from their grandmother. After challenging his daughters to sing, along with a table and harmonium he found that they were able to sing professionally and didn’t skip a beat. Hence began their professional training.

The fruits of their labour began to pay off when their popularity skyrocketed after they performed on the music television show ‘Coke Studio’ in 2012. Their rendition of the Sufi song ‘Allah Hoo’ became an instant hit and a YouTube sensation, propelling them into the limelight.

It wasn’t long before the sensational sisters, landed a song with the award winning A R Rehman for song ‘Patakha Guddi’ which appeared in the movie Highway and helped increase the duo’s prominence.

Since then, they have lent their voices to several Bollywood films, such as “Tung Tung” from the film “Singh Is Bling”, and “Halla” from the film “Manmarziyaan”.

The sisters have won several awards, including a Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer for the song ‘Patakha Guddi’. They’ve released several albums and singles, collaborating with various artists and producers. Their powerful and soulful vocals have won them many fans, and they have performed at numerous music festivals and concerts across India and internationally.

Apart from their musical accomplishments, the Nooran Sisters are also known for their philanthropic work. They have supported several social causes, including girl child education, rural development, and supporting underprivileged children. They have also performed at charity concerts to raise funds for various causes.

Overall, the Nooran Sisters are a dynamic and talented duo, who have carved out a niche for themselves in the music industry with their unique style and soulful vocals. They have inspired many with their music and dedication to making a positive impact on society.
