Tong councillors “relieved” that Holme Wood stabbing victim not suffered life-threating injuries

A 27-year-old man was found with stab wounds to his arm this morning in Holme Wood.

Two councillors from Tong have spoken out on the stabbing that occurred in their ward this morning.

West Yorkshire Police were called to Grayswood Crescent in Holme Wood at around 9.53am this morning to reports that a man had been stabbed.

When officers arrived, a 27-year-old man was found with stab wounds to his arm. He was taken to hospital where his condition was found not to be life-threatening.

People with information on the incident are encouraged to contact the police.

Councillor Kauser Mukhtar (Labour) said: “The police are investigating and anyone with any information is requested to share it with the police. I am relieved that the victim did not suffer life-threatening injuries.

Councillor Matt Edwards (Greens) also said: “It is obviously a great concern to hear something like this happening in Holme Wood but the police response has been quick.

“It is a relief that the person’s injuries are not life-threatening and I hope anyone with information can supply this to the police to help with their investigation.

A spokesperson from the West Yorkshire Police said: “Police were called at around 9.53am this morning to Grayswood Crescent, Bradford to reports that a man had been stabbed.

“When officers arrived, a 27-year-old man was found with stab wounds to his arm. He was taken to hospital where his condition is not described as life-threatening.

“Enquiries remain ongoing.”
