Training centre planed for Bradford’s Grade II listed, city centre warehouse

A London based college has revealed plans to open a Bradford campus in a vacant, Grade II listed city centre building.

CECOS College has applied to convert 8 Currer Street in Bradford’s historic Little Germany from its existing use – a data centre and CCTV control room, into a training centre.

The college offers courses in subjects including business and social care.

The building, constructed in the 19th Century, was used as a warehouse during the glory days of Little Germany. Like many buildings in this area of the city centre, it has listed status.

The plans say there will be no changes to the building’s exterior, but the interior will be divided to provide classrooms, IT labs and offices over the building’s four floors.

A decision on the application is expected next month
