Rotary showcase to bring inspiring speakers, community organisations and global cause to Bradford

Bradford is set to welcome an inspiring day of community, leadership and global impact as Rotary brings its annual showcase to the historic Great Victoria Hotel on Friday, 4 July.

The event will combine three elements under one roof: a ticketed conference featuring high-profile speakers, a free community showcase highlighting local organisations and Rotary projects, and an evening fellowship meal at the Golden Palms to round off the day.

Organisers say the event has been designed to celebrate the work of Rotary, inspire people through remarkable personal stories and encourage greater community involvement.

The conference, which is limited to just 200 delegates, will feature an impressive programme of speakers from across politics, education, sport and community leadership.

Among those taking to the stage will be adventurer Jasmine Harrison, who recently completed the gruelling Mini Globe Race as a solo sailor, becoming one of Britain’s most inspiring endurance athletes.

Also speaking will be Kim Leadbeater, alongside Professor Fiona Macaulay from the University of Bradford’s Department of Peace Studies and Shamza Butt BEM, recognised nationally for her outstanding contribution to community work.

The programme will also include local sporting personalities, including cricketer Moin Ashraf and boxer Amar Farooq, together with several other guest speakers sharing their personal journeys and experiences.

Conference tickets cost ÂŁ40 and include unlimited refreshments throughout the day, together with a complimentary goody bag.

Alongside the conference, visitors can browse a free showcase featuring Rotary clubs and local partner organisations, offering an opportunity to discover the wide range of charitable, educational and community projects taking place across the Bradford district.

The day will conclude with an informal evening meal at the recently opened Golden Palms restaurant, giving delegates, speakers and guests the chance to continue conversations and build new connections.

As part of the celebrations, Bradford City Hall will be illuminated in purple to recognise Rotary International’s long-standing campaign to eradicate polio.

Working alongside the World Health Organization and global partners, Rotary has played a leading role in reducing cases of the disease by more than 99.9 per cent worldwide, bringing the goal of eliminating polio closer than ever before.

Organisers hope the event will not only showcase Rotary’s work locally but also encourage more people to become involved in projects that make a lasting difference to communities both at home and around the world.

Conference places are limited and expected to sell quickly. Tickets, together with the full speaker programme and event information, are available at www.rotarybradfordshowcase.org.
