Global Islamic scholar Mufti Ismail Menk visited Bradford yesterday.
Dr Menk is a world-renowned Zimbabwean Islamic Scholar. He studied Shariah in Madinah and holds a Doctorate of Social Guidance from Aldersgate University.
Dr Menk has been named one of The 500 Most Influential Muslims in the world by the Royal Aal al-Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought in Jordan in 2013, 2014 and 2017.

The 46-year-old scholar was in the district as part of his six-city tour, Light Upon Light.
The conference kicked off in Bradford yesterday and discussed how to make the most of social media and maintain a strong Muslim identity and respectable presence to better promote Islam.
Before the conference, which was held in the Majestic wedding venue in Manningham, Dr Menk met with Ishfaq Farooq, Director Mylahore Group Restaurants and Naz Shah, MP for Bradford West.
Dr Menk has made several appearances in Bradford over the years. Before the pandemic in February 2020, Dr Menk held a motivational evening in the Majestic and held a dinner in the Bradford Hotel in 2019.
In 2018 Dr Menk published a collection of his sayings as a book titled Motivational Moments and in 2019 published the second edition, titled Motivational Moments 2.
He has millions of followers across his social media platforms. He travels the world spreading a simple but profound message: “Do good, help others while preparing for the hereafter”.
He tweets inspirational messages daily. This morning he tweeted: “Remember, nothing lasts. Where you are today isn’t where you will stay. The Almighty has promised. Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise with each new day. Keep hope alive in your heart. He’s right with you.”

Dr Menk is active internationally and is a strong proponent of peace and justice, speaking up against all forms of terrorism.
